Frequently Asked Questions for the inaugural Donate & Disco Event
EVENT SPECIFICS
When is the event? Where? What time?
Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at Knights of Columbus, 5115 Little Falls Rd. Arlington, VA 22207, from 7pm-11pm
What’s the dress attire?
Wear your finest disco-wear, think sequins, jumpsuits, and bell bottoms! Be as fun and festive as you would like!
What kind of food will be served?
Look forward to heavy appetizers, desserts, and late night pizza, compliments of our late night sponsors Good Company Doughnuts and Old Dominion Pizza!
Is it open bar?
Yes. We will have an assortment of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as two signature cocktails.
Do I have to leave my credit card number to bid or can I pay by check at the end of the night?
When purchasing your tickets online, you are given an opportunity for the system to “save” your credit card for use at the event. If you did not check that box, upon check in at the auction, we will swipe your card, eliminating a long check out procedure at the conclusion of the evening.
If you decide you want to change the credit card on file, that change can be made at the auction.
Do I need to bring cash or my checkbook?
No. We are only accepting credit card payments.
Is this a silent auction or a live auction? Is there any online bidding?
We will have both a silent and live auction. We also will have some catalog items that will be open for online bidding prior to the auction
Do I have to stay the entire time to win my items?
No, as long as you have the highest bid at the time that section closes. We will be able to charge your credit card on file and deliver your winnings to you should you have to leave before the event officially ends.
Can I invite a Taylor alumnus, future Taylor families, or someone outside the Taylor community?
Absolutely! This is going to be fun night for anyone attending!
Are items open for bidding all night or do they close?
There will be several sections of the auction, each closing at a certain time. A detailed schedule will be provided the week before the auction.

What is a parent or family party?

What types of things can I donate?
We welcome donations of all types! Some ideas are gift certificates, themed baskets, sports tickets or memorabilia, food or beverage items such as a case of wine, or a trip or experience.
What are teacher experiences?
Teachers can donate opportunities to spend time with them outside of the classroom, including hikes, special classes, games after school, etc.
How do I buy tickets?

Do I have to spend a ton of money at the auction?
Absolutely NOT! We intend this to be a parent social and community building event even if you do not want to buy anything. Please come to
enjoy the food, drink, and dancing!
Where can I find a list of items to bid on?
The week prior to the auction, an online catalog will be available for viewing on the auction website. We will have some item teasers on the school entryway TV and in the PTA newsletter and on social media leading up to the event too.
What if I can't attend the auction? How can I support from afar?
We welcome monetary donations, which you can make on the purchase ticket page, and we also would love a donation for the auction itself. You will also be able to bid on all the items at home on the bidding website. Please feel free to share this bidding website with friends, grandparents, and anyone who loves our Taylor Tiger community and wants to support the PTA.
